AV Enthusiast Forum Rules

1.   Members shall not use the AV Enthusiast Forum as a means to promote or sell items, services, print publications, web sites, or businesses. AV Enthusiast Forum is intended for the exchange of knowledge, expression of opinion, and for entertainment. Period.

2. Members are not allowed to choose user names which are urls, names of web sites, or names of product.

3.   Members are allowed to have links in their .sigs, but are warned to exercise restraint in doing so. Keep the font size and colors unobtrusive. Links may only point to your AV-related web site or personal blog. AV Enthusiast Forum is my website, and if I want to promote your site, I will do so myself. I am giving you a place to put a link, be respectful and don't abuse it.

4.   Members are encouraged to engage each other in discussion. Argument is sometimes a part of discussion. Always remain civil. No personal attacks, profanity, or name calling allowed. I will exercise a zero tolerance policy on bad behavior. I will not see this forum used for the above behavior. This extends to personal messages sent on this forum. You have been warned.

5.    Members are limited to one account. Further, misrepresenting your identity or impersonating another individual is prohibited.

6.   Thread jacking is prohibited. Remain on topic or start a new thread.

7.   Cross posting threads to multiple forums is prohibited.

8.   Members shall not post any attachments to the forums that are not image files. Members are further advised to keep the size of their image files reasonable. The admin reserves the right to delete any inappropriate or overly large image files.

9.   Members shall not question the authority of the administrator or his designated moderators. We shall govern these forums fairly, but with a firm hand if things start to spiral out of control. Questioning administrative decisions or making negative comments about said decisions is a Bad Idea.

10. Members are prohibited from posting complete news stories or articles that originate from a web site other than AV Enthusiast Forum. If the subject is relevant and adds quality to the discussion, a snippet of text can be quoted and a link to the source included. I will exercise my right to determine whether rule #1 has been violated and will act accordingly if I decide it has.

11. Members are prohibited from posting links to sales or special prices on items.

12. Members are allowed to post MSRP of a new item as this is relevant information. Additionally members are allowed to state prices on second hand gear, i.e. what market value of an item should be, what a good value on an item would be, etc., provided that they are not using the forum in an effort to sell said item. These are the only instances where posting an item's price will be allowed.

13. Members acknowledge that they have read and understand the AV Enthusiast Forum rules and agree to their terms. Members agree that AV Enthusiast and it's proprietor Michael Lankton shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, exemplary or special damages for loss of profits, use, data, good will, or other intangible losses resulting from: the use or inability to use this forum; unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; statements or conduct of any third party using this forum; the cost of procurement of substitute goods and/or services resulting from any goods, data, information or services purchased or obtained, or transactions entered into through or from the use of this forum.
